In this project, a VoIP system with 15 extensions was implemented on a passive and active network platform using the Issabel server. In the passive part, CAT6 structured cabling and 24-port patch panels with standard RJ45 sockets were used to provide high-quality and noise-free connectivity for IP phones (Yealink T4x models). In the active part, a Gigabit POE switch (TP-Link TL-SG2428P) was installed to provide power and data to the phones, and all equipment was connected to the Issabel server (version 4.0). The server configuration included setting up SIP Trunk for the city lines, creating a voice mailbox, setting up call routing and voice conferencing. Also, SIP over TLS and SRTP encryption were used for communication security. The final tests showed satisfactory voice quality (with a MOS score above 4.2) and stable system performance.
Key points:
– Passive: Complies with EIA/TIA-568B cabling standards to reduce crosstalk.
– Active: Configure a separate VLAN for VoIP traffic to prevent interference.
– Issabel: Using Queue and IVR modules to manage incoming calls.
– Benefits: Reduced telecommunications costs, easy internal development, and integration with CRM software.
